Bustin Boards recently announced a new addition to their pro team and have just dropped a banger of a video to back up the news. Community leader and all around good guy Matt K. has joined the Bustin Fam and has let the world know by hitting up the mountains of NC to film an epic welcome to the team part. His surf inspired style gels perfectly with the NC terrain making this video an absolutely must see.
Check out a small write up on the Bustin Blog for more information on this big announcement as well as for further updates from the newly formed partnership. JAH Bless y'all and we hope that you enjoy your Turkey Day tomorrow!
As the turmoil that has been this most current presidential election comes to a head, there is a very powerful message that I am taking away from all of this and it has NOTHING to do with whats going on in Washington. Every candidate in recent history has taken a divide and conqueror approach that only goes to drive the stakes of division even deeper within our country. By presenting us a conscious choice about the way we identify our selves within various main stream categorizations, it becomes very obvious of all the differences among us but does very little in highlighting our similarities. What I have taken away from all of this is how blessed I am to be a part of a community in which there are No Elections and no Labels that determine how you can express who you are as an individual atop your board. Within skateboarding, in my eyes there are no gay-skateboarders, no black or white skateboarders, and certainly no Republican or Democrat skateboarders but rather just SKATEBOARDERS. Our community allows you to drop any defining pre-fixes that may be a surrounding stigma and simply embrace the fact that we all skate and that is simply enough.
As all the drama continues to unfold, I highly encourage all of us to band together and keep our community as open minded as ever so that we can hopefully be a shining example of how things can be when the labeling of character traits is eliminated. JAH Bless and thank you for being a part of the skateboarding family and bringing your own unique attributes that contribute to our increasing diversity as a group.
